Guardian Home Program
We view our Guardian Home program as an arrangement that benefits everyone involved
The Breeding Dogs
These dogs will not have to wait for their breeding years to be over before they can have a forever home with a family that loves & cares for them.
The Guardian Homes
Receive a “pick of the litter” puppy for a reduced price in return for working with Qualis Bulldogges during the breeding years of the dog's life.
Qualis Bulldogges
We have peace of mind knowing our breeding dogs are living their best life as beloved family members.
At Qualis Bulldogges we strive to give our breeding dogs the best life possible. Being able to provide this for them requires us to limit how many dogs we personally keep at our home. Maintaining our goal to produce high quality bulldogges requires us to consistently evaluate & add quality blood-lines to our breeding program.
For us, and many other in-home breeders such as ourselves, the Guardian Home Program gives the possibility to provide quality lives for breeding dogs. This option allows us to expand our breeding program the right way. Living in a Guardian Home prevents our breeding dogs from living in a kennel environment, and instead provides them with a loving home, where they are part of a family.
Approved Guardian Home applicants will receive a discount for a high quality, pick of the litter puppy. You are the puppy’s forever home. However Qualis Bulldogges will retain breeding rights of the dog for a time at the beginning of their life with you. The puppy goes home with you at 8 weeks old & our breeding right to the pup begins at sexual maturity, for females that age is 18 months old & for males it’s 12 months old. Our breeding rights for a female will end once she has given birth to 3 litters. Breeding rights for males are only bred on an “as needed” basis.
For the duration of time that the dog is participating in our breeding program, Qualis Bulldogges will pay for all breeding-related expenses. As the dog’s forever home, you are responsible for all typical “pet” expenses & maintenance. Including dog food, training, pet-related vet visits, annual vaccinations, & parasite prevention. (following Qualis Bulldogges guidelines).
Females
Once the dog is of age & has passed all her required health tests, Qualis Bulldogges decides when she will be bred. As well as which male she will be bred to.
In addition to living fulltime with her Guardian Family, she will also stay with you for the majority of each pregnancy. We only require that she be returned to us a few days before her due date to deliver & raise her puppies. Once the puppies are weaned (around 6-8 weeks of age) She can be picked up by her Guardian Family at this time.
Males
Once the dog reaches full sexual maturity & has passed his required health testing, Qualis Bulldogges will determine when breeding will take place with our females only. He will live with his Guardian family fulltime & is only required to be returned to us for brief times throughout the year.
Typically this will take place over the span of 5 days with a 24 hour gap between each breeding. The Guardian Family has the option to drop-off on day 1 & pick-up on day 5. Or bring him to us on alternating days over the 5 day span.
Once a dog has completed their time in our breeding program, we will pay for them to be spayed/neutered and release full ownership of the dog to you. All that’s left for them to do is continue enjoying the amazing life that has been provided by you all along.
